JSA Selects Pixel as New Double-Handed Sailboat
At the Annual Meeting on October 19, the JSA announced that it had chosen the 14-foot Pixel as its new doublehanded training and racing sailboat. The decision was made after a three-year process that included extensive research, boat testing and feedback from JSA of LIS members. The Pixel is a new one-design by Bruce Kirby, who also designed the Laser, Sonar and Ideal 18. It will be used within the JSA as a transition boat between Optimists and Lasers or 420s, primarily by sailors who are 12 to 15 years old.

We've heard from parents that there aren't many sources of information available for parents who sail with their children nor for young sailors who are not racers. Please submit stories about learning to sail, cruising, racing, and experiences from the child's perspective, as well as tips for cruising success with children aboard. Recipes, games, stories...photos are always welcome.
