Sending us files: Instructions

We need your help to make the Coastal Boating website valuable for all to use. Suggestions for content and contributions are most welcome. Please indicate where you think your content should go. Letters to the editor are also welcome. We reserve the right to edit and post letters we think would be useful to our readers.

If you are submitting a manuscript and/or photographs, please advise us by e-mail so that we know to look for it. We will respond to your inquiry usually within 4 weeks.

If you are submitting graphics for advertising, please call to let us know you've uploaded a file AND WHAT YOU NAMED IT (201-512-1700) as soon as possible. We cannot post any advertising without a reservation form, which may also upload with your file.

File Compression:

All files sent in should be stuffed (Mac) or zipped (PC). Besides making the file smaller, the file compression puts a 'protective shell' around the file, so it is well worth compressing even the smallest files.

We can also accept PDF files.

Email remains the simplest approach.
Compress the file(s) you wish to send us. Attach the resulting archive to an email message. Describe the submission in the body of the email message.

If you have difficulty emailing your file, please mail us a CD with a printed copy. Please be sure to label the CD with your name, phone number or email address, and mail to:

If you are submitting a manuscript with photographs, please do not imbed the photos in the document as is possible in Microsoft Word. We cannot retrieve the photos from the document in suitable format. Send three files: manuscript, photos, captions for photos with reference to the photo file name. Keep file names as short as possible and do not use any special characters or spaces. Thank you.
